Born and raised in Eastern Montana, long-time native Shirley Niles began designing and crafting floral wall hangings and centerpiece arrangements. The arrangements are incorporated with Whitetail deer antlers, and pheasant feathers. After years of designing and decorating for homes and special requests, this evolved into CUSTOM DESIGN ORIGINALS by Shirley.

Always seeking unique and rare materials is a challenge. The client is encouraged to personalize their own arrangements, whether it be rustic to modern.

A little about some of the materials used:
Small grains such as wheat, barley, and oats are primordial basic foods. The nature of a small grain is such that it has been given symbolic meaning in mythology and religion. lt is considered the fruit of the Earth, a gift of life and the gift of the gods. lt is associated with pung covenant and blessing. It may also he considered the basic food of immortality. ln Greek mythology, a single grain was displayed at the wedding of Zeus and Demeter. Demeter was a great mother, a fertility goddess and was responsible for the seasons. Grains were symbolic of the cycle of the seasons and the cycle of life. When planted, one grain produces meny on an ear of wheat, barley or oats. As a dream symhol, it may be pointed to your inner'Tood" or the abundance that the unconscious holds. lt may also represent the "plenty" that sunounds you in your daily life. Grain may symbolize abundance and its ability to continuously regenerate ifs,elf. This dream may be a reminder from the unconscious, which tells us that abundance and prosperity is in our nature, as is rebirth of psychological, emotional and spiritual type.
